Anyone know what happened to Rich?? Curious if he landed on his feet somewhere. Hopefully so.

He's running his own website and providing custom weather hits (audio and chromakeyed video) for a number of clients.

I cringe whenever I see R.A.'s name come up. Without saying anything personal, I would encourage those who are interested in his broadcasting/consulting/tape reviewing services to ask around before sending the check.
Just a word to the wise...

I dunno newbie... when I started out about 6 years ago I sent him a tape. He sent me a very thorough critique. While it was pricey, and I'm not sure his advice helped me land a job, I certainly don't feel like I was ripped off for any reason.
I could definitely see his services being more useful though for someone at that first job looking to move up.

Point taken, obviously each critique will be different and emphasize different things. However, I would personally not pay for his services again. I found his critique emphasized items that weren't significant issues in the markets I was applying to. I showed several meteorologists his critique and I did not receive any positive responses.
My viewpoint is that if someone is looking to get a critique there *may* be better sources. A guy that has been fired at least twice is not someone I want to get advice from.

Fair enough. His critique certainly focussed on things that I thought were more individual when I was looking more at the big picture. One thing that comes to the top of my mind is when I used the phrase "this storm is sucking up moisture..." and he commented that that is not technically accurate.
I would have rathered comments geared more to the overall presentation. It certainly was very nit-picky.

Back a few years ago Rich was a member of the NWA Broadcast committee. Their critiques are the toughest I've had to endure. Unfortunately, News Directors and the NWA are on different planets when it comes to what they look for in a weather cast.

Now I remember, his critique was filled with something to the effect of "your presentation doesn't let me know that you know enough about meteorology". That is valid, if the NWA (or similar) paid my check every other week. If I wanted a critique on meteorological performance I would have asked for such, but at the time I was getting information regarding a tape to send to larger markets, and thus it wasn't filled with a description of potential vorticity.
