The FOX affiliate in Sioux City, IA sent their anchor out to be "homeless" for a day. All they had the guy do is sit around and ask for money at a few places around town (I wonder if the homeless have cars too, to get them around town nice and quick?). The good though...they're donating the $4.27 they netted to charity.

That's not as bad as this. At least he didn't serve homeless folks beer. Read below.

Paul McCartney once did that. He dirtied himself up, let his stubble grow for a few days and played a beat up guitar on a London street corner for a night as part of the (bad) movie he made in 1984. He said no one recognized him and was able to get quite a few people to toss money into his open guitar case (which he donated to the Seaman's Mission).

Walter Jacobsen did the story a few years ago. They posted the video online recently, watching it again as a journalist I think he did a great job.

Saw the same thing done 20 years ago.

Nothing like "news" that's been done before poping up in different markets.

WTAE's Wendy Bell in Pittsburgh did a similar story a few years back.
