Clear Channel just laid off several radio folks in my market. Are they doing the same at TV stations and radio in other market? (We only have radio here)

Yes, layoffs have occurred in several radio markets. The TV stations are for sale.

Several CC employees were laid off at the radio station where I worked until last month. Others, including myself, were asked to take a pay cut.

I jumped over to the local TV station instead. Less money than I *had* been making, but more than I ws *going* to be making.

All CC clusters were ordered to make big budget cuts even before word of the sale. That probably won't change.

It's quite an experience to get a job at a corporate radio cluster when it's in the early stages of a changeover, where people are leaving or being let go.

I worked for them a few years ago. Glad I got out when I did. I'm sure it was a variety of things that did them in including their McDonalds approach to programming.

Good luck to those who got caught up in the sale!
