Orlando Area

I'll be moving to the Orlando area so my husband can go back to school. I have experience as a one-woman band, but since Orlando is such a high market I don't think I'll be able to get a job at any of the stations.

Does anyone have any advice or connections in Orlando? I'd like to get my foot in the door somewhere and stay in the broadcasting industry.

orlando may be in the top 20, but it ain't a great product, nor does it pay great as one would expect for a 19ish market. There is fair amount of turnover there because of it and jobs at all stations open up frequently. many come from 90ish to 50ish markets.

MAke a tape. Hand deliver it. Call and tell the ND the situation. The fact they don't have to pay moving expenses is a bonus. And, you can always ask about free lance gigs or field producing.
