I have been dubbing tapes at our bureau and for some reason my vcr at home won't play the audio when I try to play them back. Other vcr's work fine and other tapes work fine in my vcr. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

check the audio hook-ups. was it dubbed mixed to both channels or are the channels separate Left and right?

check your TV/VCR is it mono or stereo? are both RCA jacks plugged in?

if the dub wasn't mixed to both channels then you may hear only one, the other or neither audio channel....heck ask a photog to look at...

I remember having this problem before. On your VCR remote there should be a button for SAP/Hi-Fi. If I'm remembering correctly, play the tape and hit this button until you hear audio.

Photog? Ask an engineer... although I think Max is on the right thought... does your VCR show up as Ch3 or Ch4 on your TV? Do you hear the same thing on both speakers at home when you play other tapes?
