Albany, NY

Hello All.

I was wondering if anyone might be able to provide some information about the Albany, NY market?

Any information on the stations in the market, as well as how the city is, would be greatly appreciated!

I've been around there a bunch of times. I haven't seen everything, but this is what I got from what I have seen. The city itself is, for the most part, a dump. OUTSIDE the city, it's really nice, especially north of town along 87 (Northway). There's a lot of nice towns... Clifton Park, Ballston Spa, Saratoga Sprgs, Glens Falls (that's up there though). Those towns north of Albany are also really close to the Adirondacks.

I don't know much about the actual stations.

WNYT- NBC13, has been the dominant #1 for years. Bob Kovachick is the man!

WRGB- CBS6, used to be 3. But I think there have moved up. There product is improving rapidly though.

WTEN- ABC10, used to be #2 but falling fast. They tried an experiment a few years back by getting rid of sports. Stupid idea, did't work and they have suffered ever since.

WXXA- Fox23, seems to be climbing. They have a good product, but only started up maybe 10-12 years ago so they are a bit late to the game.
