It’s got to be one of the things I hate most about my job. Dipping briefly into someone else’s tragedy. I do wonder what the family’s make of us being there, well now thanks to blogs we can see how we looked to them. This family were pleased to have us there but I can’t help but wonder, in the past we showed up did the story and left. The end.
But now with blogs the family’s can say how they felt about the experience. How will others use this new right of reply?

Sorry. You think I would have learnt after being stopped in Northern Island by a Republican roadblock in an unbranded car and telling them “We’re here to shoot Gerry Adams.” Luckily it all turned out ok.

Off topic

I was one man banding a Clinton rally in Missouri in 1992 shortly after he picked up Secret Service protectin. I was trying to make my way to the rope line to get some shots (I was 21 years old, didn't know any better, thought it would be fun). After making/forcing my way to the line, I found myself flat up against a pillar to my left, corwd to my right, but a ledge behind me. Of course, I tried to jump on the ledge.

Word to the wise. When the Secret Service tries to pull you off a ledge, don't tell them that you need to be up there because it's the only way you can get a clean shot.

What the ?

Little known fact: Dexter Holland from The Offspring has been moonlighting as a reporter. Coincidence?

I once needed a group shot in front of a home for the mentally challenged. I asked them all to stand out front. They did but it looked like a still photo.....so I asked them to not pose, but to just act normal.....OOPS! graemlins/eusa_doh.gif
