How long did you think that would last? I don't think that could've been legal, right?

Just says due to legal issue he's been forced to shut down? I must have missed something.

But still, if Clearchannel is the reason for it, I'm not the least bit surprised. I'm sure he's not the first website owner who's been pushed around by their legal schlubs.

Too bad. It was neat.

Yeah I just checked that site out the other night and was looking forward to going back to it... I started to wonder how long it would actually last I guess I found out.

He was encoding/streaming someone else's content. Even if he wasn't making a penny it's illegal. I doubt he had any type of redistribution rights.

However, I did check it out and I thought it was cool.

A company from Canada in the late 90s tried this same thing and lost the legal battle.

All that bandwidth being used without those people wading thru all those popups and insipid "dancing dumbass" mortgage ads they serve up. Ha! Serves them right for making their viewers endure that crap.

While I was looking forward to enjoying the site myself, it was pretty much the same as hotlinking images.

Bandwidth isn't free and while annoying, those ads are how stations defray the cost of giving you all that video for free.

Too bad. Like many others here, I checked it out and thought what a cool idea. Even book-marked the page although I was also curious about how legal it all was.

Hope he finds a way to re-launch the site (legally) and make some money from it.
