Rene Syler is leaving the CBS Early Show on December 22.

This will come as a huge shock to many morning TV viewers.

They had no idea Rene Syler was on the CBS Early Show.

Of the four anchors, I have always found her to be the most relatable. When she does a segment on grocery shopping or family issues, I have the feeling that she knows about those things first-hand. Not so sure about the others,

Bring back Paula Zahn and Harry as the team.

I saw Harry on her show on CNN a week or two ago and it had a natural "bookend" kind of look to it.

Then again I had the sound turned off. Maybe once they open their mouths it's a different story. Dunno.

Just wonderin' if they're gonna replace her with anyone else or just drop it to 3 hosts.

Hi All.....If they look for a minority to replace Renee, perhaps they'll hire Star Jones-Reynolds in hope of cashing in on the Katie-Meredith-Rosie-Star swap from a few months ago. Perhaps the few people who went to bed watching CSI will have the pleasure of a Star wake up call. I don't know which would be more gruesome.

Then CBS could finally say, "Morning news just won't work here. We need to give it back to the locals."

I like that "Springtime for Hitler" scenario. Audiences actually LIKED Springtime for Hitler.

Even though The Early Show is in last place, it still makes money for CBS. Locals won't get the time.

Locals could do it...but most don't want to or do not have the resources to execute a well produced morning show unless their stations in the top 75.

Although CBS has never seemed to put together the right mix of people to make that product stronger, I don't think trashing it altogether is the right plan.

Here in DMA #9, WGCL can't even put together a newscast between 5 and 7 am to precede The Early Show. They just rerun CBS Morning News for 2 hours.
