We're covering severe weather here. I'm in the rare position of watching from home and flipping around, and I'm disgusted. One station can't do any live shots without the freebie, highly painted StormChaser H3 as the background for each live shot. On another, the chief meterologist can't waste too much time on the details of the actual developing storm, because he has to spend :45 showing us how to go on the station's website and pull up video of the clouds. Next station- reporter is live on the state line, two and a half hours away. One station is showcasing its new downtown studio by showing people walking by it in the rain. And on another, the chopper is live over horses ankle deep in water four counties away from any heavily populated areas. For a deadly weather event, I'm sure getting a lot of marketing messages.
