Any educated guesses on salary for a primary newscast producer in tampa at a major affiliate?

"primary newscast"? What is that today? It used to be the 6pm...then it was the 10pm...
Ask anyone in sales, they'll tell you the primary newscast is morning - more news, more spots to sell...
Ask anyone in news, they'll tell you the primary newscast is 6pm. Better staffing!
Regardless, it's all about how much that individual can bring to the table. For instance, in our shop - our 5pm producer makes more than any of the other producers because he has experience in long-form specials and debates. No one else can do them as well, so he gets more bank for it.

Monday-Friday AM Producer, expect around $43K.
Monday-Friday PM Producer (6p or 11p), expect around $46K.
Weekend Producer: $38K.
I'm basing these figures on my own experience in the business, and I'm taking into consideration the "cheapening" of most owners in recent years.

Btw -- I seem to have lost the object of which I wanted to take a picture.
Remember my garbage disposal problem? It sounded like it was trying to dispose of a Boeing 747? Well, I finally called maintenance. It wasn't a 747. Just a penny. smile.gif It did quite a number on it, too! If I find it, i'll post a pic. The damage to the penny serves as a great lesson not to stick your fingers down there!

Why was there a penny in your garbage disposal in the first place?

Hush -- My garbage disposal is where I keep my savings. Fortunately, it was just a penny.
TVMatt -- It came with the place. It disposes garbage. I'm not quite sure why I have one either, but it's kinda neat. Sometimes I put like stalks of celery in it just for the hell of it to watch it spin around as it's pulverized.
I gotta find that penny! It's chewed up real good!
