While I don't think it's the future I have posted my tape on you tube.

I'm looking to move onto a better situation and would appreciate some feedback. All the sports is dead people don't bother commenting. Thanks

I would say you have a lot of enthusiasm, but it seems pseudo-sincere.

I wasn't feeling the highlights, felt like you were simply reading. However, you had a lot of content - which is a luxury. Giving producers are always a plus!

Get rid of the last pkg, as it would never be seen...can't believe I watched it.

Work on being genuine instead of just excited. Not a knock, just something to work on.

Granted - web video isn't the greatest, so some quality may be lost in "translation"...but you're good for where you're at. If you're shooting for bigger and better things, cut your highlights shorter, put the camera on a tripod and let the stories BREATHE!

The coal statue story could have been AWESOME...but I needed more tight shots, more sequences, more nat pops.

I'll PM you with a few links of some things I've seen that are pretty good.

Some of your edits in your stand-up montage could be cleaner. You cut things off in mid-sentence at times. To me it looks like you're being a bit lazy with that.

...if you want a job -- make your tape shine.

If you're going to use a great cutaway/catch phrase (like the toga line from AH) give yourself enough time to let it breathe. By the time you were done adlibbing, you'd missed the play completly which is counter productive since the folks are tuning in for the action. Plus that's near the top of your tape so it already 'says' unpolished...

Also don't try to over-sell everything. Let the video speak. Sometimes less is more.... and 9 + minutes is MORE than too long.

To touch on what 68 and the previous poster said...if you're soliciting stations with your online version, keep it to just a few minutes - leave the prospective employers wanting more.

And that tape, definately doesn't have me wanting more.

Keep trucking...put a better tape online...who knows what'll happen. Good luck!

something like the "toga" reference loses steam when you have to explain it afterward.

I'd just make the reference and assume that most people will get it.

if you're afraid that most people won't get it and that it NEEDS explaining, then you probably shouldn't use it.
