they've got 2 main anchors who are very good and make most of the money.

everyone else makes less than they do.
a LOT less.

their two main anchors are NOT good...Zappolo, in particular, is unwatchable.

But yeah--salaries have been slashed VERY low there..you don't want to work there. They are in a hiring mode of young, green and CHEAP. Their last weather hire came from a teeny weeny little market..Idaho Falls..she SUCKS.

ok, "good" is subjective.
but he's smooth on air, well-known in the market and a decent-sized reason they're been #1 at 9 pm pretty much since the station signed on.

I run into him around South Florida once in a while now. He is a nice guy, and he's not one of those network reporters who acts like he's better than everyone.

Having almost shot with him except for a double booking, I'm guessing you know something about him since you at least know that he is out of Miami. Probably more than most on this thread.

he's a solid versatile reporter and really good writer.
don't be so easily distracted by his look.

two others...... a weak CW (formerly WB) and a My20 version of KUSA.

I am willing to bet the KUSA 9pm will do better given time. People just have to figure out it is there for the watching.

I don't know a single person who watches the Fox channel. I watch the KUSA 9pm over the other two.

I've never been a Zapolo fan so that could be part of the reason I don't watch... but it is also because some of their reporters are pretty weak.

And actually, my assessment was supported by a couple local magazines/newspapers, as well as radio shows who lamented his leaving because he was a hip, happening, party guy who had good hair. I'll try to look for the articles.
