Their NFL shows are unbearable to watch, and that BCS selection show was a joke. I flipped to ESPN2 so quickly. I get the "we're trying to make this like March Madness" thing, but come on. That show was rancid.
The NFL Pregame show is OK with Joe Buck anchoring with the Terry, Howie, and Jimmy. However, I still tend to watch ESPN, then I'll flip to FOX about 10 minutes before kickoff if my team is playing at that time. Menafee doesn't do anything for me, he's not very dynamic at all with those personalities. Park the stinking road show back in LA and at least let Chris Rose take a shot at it.

Agreed on both counts. I don't like the on-location pre-game. I don't mind Menifee but all the guys have to yell and none looks terribly comfortable having to compete with the crowd. It ruins the broadcast.
The BCS show was terrible. Chris Rose is not a major league talent. Charles Davis is solid but the poor guy could barely talk though his sore throat. Barry Alvarez merely spouts the usual coach's cliches. Fox's problem is that all its main talent was tied up doing NFL duty.
And it was a hilarious kick in Fox's crotch that NBC, citing the L.A. Times, revealed all the bowl matchups just as Fox's BCS show began, scooping the BCS' own announcement!

AGREED! The BCS show was pathetic. The guy with bronchitis/losing his voice should not have been on the air.
Also would it have killed Fox to give its viewers a New Year's Day bowl lineup? Were they that scared of telling us about games NOT on Fox?
I love the fact that some of these BCS games are total steaming turds... Boise State? Wake Forest vs. Louisville? HAHAHHHAHAHAAAA! The ratings will suck.

Fox sports is no comparison to ESPN. Has SI seriously considered trying to go into television to a greater extent?

Fox has sold its regional sports networks to Liberty Media.
not sure what this means to the future of those RSNs.
any insiders have info?

any insiders have info?Liberty should only get 3 RSNs plus Uncle Rupert's 39% stock in Direct TV. Here's the NY Times link (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/07/technology/07cable.html)
