... and I'm nervous. I'm surfing the station's website, looking over my notes... distract me! I hate interviews. I'm a much better employee than interviewee.

I have a list of questions for him, with a few highlighted. I have another page with reminders for myself on those typical interview questions. 20 minutes and counting!

(chanting: be yourself be yourself be yourself.....)

no five years, no news philosophy -- and I was ready for it!

he went easy on me.. mostly asked what questions I had for him --good sign? -- and then set up an in-person interview. Great. Something to get really nervous about.

You're a promotions producer, sam?

To Roy -- I've never really answered the "where do you see yourself in 5 years question" on interviewers where I've been asked it (just about everyone, I think!). I just gave the truthful answer: "I don't know. I love what I do now, and I can't imagine not doing it." (again, still the truth here, believe it or not. smile.gif ).

Especially if you have to travel to that interview and they are picking up the tab. When I started out,It wasn't anything for a station to "fly-in" five or more candidates. Today, they'll only pay to bring in their top two candidates, if even that.

I loved going on interviews. It was exciting, going to a new city, meeting new people and being treated like a semi-big shot. And if I didn't get the gig, well, I still enjoyed going on a trip on their dime, talking shop and learning some things. There was no downside.
