I'm not sure about the specific posts in question, but have you considered that perhaps the pairs of posts were originally posted in different forums and moved here by the moderators? That has happened to several posts, where the poster would post in both the J Forum and in Free for All. Then one of the moderators, seeking to be helpful, would identify the post in Free for All as a legitimate journalism topic and would move it over here, not realizing there was a version of that post here already.

Another thing that has happened is that there are still some people who don't visit this site very often and are confused by the separate boards when they do show up, not even realizing that there is a separate J Forum. They post to Free for All, and their posts get moved to the J Forum. When they come back to Free for All to see the responses to their post, it's gone. So they post it again, and THAT message gets moved as well. They end up with two posts in the J Forum and don't understand why, from their point of view, their messages keep getting "deleted."

Sometimes, posts or topics are moved. Sometimes, they're deleted. I had a reply deleted just last night (or this morning). No complaints here, just figured the mods are doin' what they gotta do. And they didn't boot me. smile.gif
