WLKY has 3 radar tools their super doppler unknown what software, their vipir system, and now WSI software. This is great in seeing views of storms from diff. weather radar companies.

I believe their radar is ADC. Of course all that equipment doesn't mean squat unless you have people that know how to work it. JC is one of the best in the biz. He can cover severe weather with the best of them and he's one of the most knowledgeable forecasters I've worked with. Let's just say he learned from the best here in OMA ;)

I believe it's an EEC unit, not sure which version.

Cardosi.. good?! HAHAH!! That's funny... he's been 2nd to LAST for years. They have radars, and good systems... but the fact they ALWAYS fall back on the simplest things kill their coverage. Now.. WAVE3 on the other hand... that is someone you can be proud of! The best meteorologists... the BEST systems and software... they are the way to go imo. ESP:Live and they also use a OLD completely LIVE radar on top of a downtown building. They can overlay it on ESP:Live and it works wonders! They have the most funding in Louisville, so I take it they get the best. I wish I knew how much Belski makes. =( </rant> lol

WLKY's weather department does the very best in Louisville. It has won most accurate by WeatherRate two years straight. The weather department does very well during severe weather, ranking near the tops in each severe weather outbreak.

JC is a very intelligent man and does an incredible job.

Not that the rest in Louisville don't do an incredible job, but WLKY tops the list IMO.

Apparently in contrary to Wx4Svr's opinion however.

Yeah... a couple of other 2 year olds have come to life recently. What's up with that?

Somehow, I can't help feeling this is my fault. I didn't even know you could bring up threads this old.

wx4svr, have you been waiting this long to come up with a rebuttal, or do you just like going through old medialine threads for fun?

I won't get into a pissing match here since I really don't have a dog in this fight. I only interned with Cardosi way back when, although I still keep in touch. Beslki and the gang do a great job. I went to school with KH and he's a hellofa guy. WAVE's coverage during the 96 tornado was some of the best I've ever seen. As for Cardosi being 2nd to last. I'll disagree with that and just let the ratings speak.

lol... sorry about that. I just got home. lol.... Wow.. I did rise a post from the dead dind't I. lol. I first found this website when searching around. I decided to search around, and found some things close to home here in Louisville. I didn't mean to piss anyone off... so for that I'm sorry. Just voicing my opinion. lol... like we all haven't done that before. :D
